Preparing dimensions for a fence, gate and carport
A checklist of measurements, photos and installation details to help prepare your enquiry.
Start with the installation site
Record the installation address and photograph the area, existing posts, walls and access routes. A photo with dimensions marked on it helps explain the intended specification.
Measure fences and gates separately
For the fence, provide the total length and desired height. Specify each vehicle gate and pedestrian gate separately with the opening width and height. Include the opening type and whether automation is required.
Carport width and depth
Width is measured across the front. Depth runs from front to back. Also record the height and the dimensions of every enclosed side. Describe a storage shed using its own dimensions.
Initial measurements, individual agreement
Configurator details prepare the discussion. Slopes, fixings and connections may affect the final specification and are agreed before manufacture.
